| The Marymount Blog The Marymount Blog is a collection of thoughts and words from the management and sisters at Marymount Centre. We hope you will enjoy reading our blog and will be glad if they can influence you in some form or another. Welcome to the Marymount Centre website! Marymount Centre is a social service run by the Congregation of the Good Shepherd Sisters to reach out to children, women and families who are marginalized and to facilitate reconciliation with their families. In the parable of the Lost Sheep found in the Bible ( Matthew 18), the shepherd seeks out the one lost sheep and one of the themes reflected in the parable is the value of the individual whom God loves and cares about. The different ministries under Marymount Centre aim to fulfill the mission of our Foundress, Saint Mary Euphrasia, “ One person is of more value than the world” in which every individual is important and to be treated with dignity and care. We are committed to providing quality and nurturing care to every child and person who need support and being with them during the healing journey. Healing of the spirit is a process which requires time and accepting, patient and understanding companions. Our staff and volunteers are faithful companions in the healing journey with each person. In this journey, there are happy, joyous as well as frustrating moments as the individual person struggles in the reconciliation with self and others. To “be with person” during those moments helps in the person’s inner growth and healing. It gives us tremendous joy and makes what we do meaningful and fulfilling when person tells us that she has experienced acceptance and love during her journey with us. I invite you to explore this website to find out more about what we do. You can also read the feedback from our former and current residents and volunteers. We continue to strive to make Marymount a place where God’s love is experienced and the individual is respected and grows in dignity and responsibility. With gratitude,
